How to Play the Hero for WondLa Flying Game

  • You will need a Webcam and a computer to download the software for this experience (See the How to Download the 3D Software section above)
  • You will also need an AR tracker: you can use either the promotional bookmark for Hero for WondLa, the illustrations from Hero for WondLa that appear on pages 19, 79, and 280, or you can download the tracker to play the first level here
  • When the application starts and you see yourself in the webcam, hold the AR tracker close to the camera, approximately 6-8 inches away. When you hear the sound, you’ll know that the AR has activated and you can pull the the AR tracker back to a comfortable distance.
  • Once the countdown ends, you will be in full control of Hailey’s airship, The Bijou. Move the tracker up, down, left, and right to control the Bijou to race towards the end of the level within the allotted time. Pick up Power-ups along the way to increase your score and speed (Purple, Blue, Brown, and Green icons), but avoid Hazards that will slow you down and decrease your score (Orange, Pink, Burgundy, Red icons). Avoid crashing into walls, obstacles, Sandsnipers, and Airwhales!

Software Initialization

Question: The Software has installed correctly but seems to stall at the beginning of initializing the software. I have 2 web cameras plugged into my computer.

Answer: A selection window will appear above the frame when you have multiple cameras. In order to continue installation, you must select which camera you want to use.

Question: The software has installed correctly but seems to stall at the beginning of the initializing the software. I am positive I only have 1 camera installed on my computer.

Answer: First, ensure your Internet connection is still working. Make sure you are not trying to open multiple versions of the software at the same time. The software can only support one open video screen at a time. Restart your web browser.

Question: I get a message that says: “Error when loading the player, please restart the application or contact support.” What do I do?

Answer: Make sure you are not trying to open multiple versions of the software at the same time. The software can only support one open video screen at a time. Restart your web browser. If you are still having initialization issues, email us at wondla2_support@t-immersion.com

Troubleshooting your Web Cam

Question: I am sure I installed the D’Fusion software correctly, but I can’t see any video or I get an error message when starting the software.

Answer: Make sure your web camera is plugged in and installed correctly. Make sure that your web camera software is turned off before starting to the WONDLA-VISION Experience in 3D. D’Fusion works with most USB web cameras; however it is not compatible with SD fire-wire camcorders. If you are still having connection issues, please email us at wondla2_support@t-immersion.com

Question: My video is blurry or goes in and out of focus.

Answer: If your web camera has auto focus, turn it off. Sometimes there is a thin film placed over new webcams to protect the lenses during shipping. Make sure this film has been removed from the webcam.

Questions: The lighting in my web camera seems too bright/dark.

Answer: Many cameras use auto light sensors that adjust the light based on the background. You may need to turn off the automatic setting control in your software and adjust the room lighting.

3D Book Recognition

Question: How close should the 3D tracker be to the camera?

Answer: You should begin by holding the appropriate tracker from The Search for WondLA about 6 – 8 inches away from the web cam or until the entire tracker is in full view.

Question: I’m holding up the tracker to my Webcam and can see myself, but I’m not seeing in 3D?

Answer: The tracker should be held flat and in full view of the Webcam (about 6 – 8 inches away). Make sure that the room you are in is well light and there are no glares on the tracker. If still not working, pull the tracker away and try again.

Question: I’m having a hard time getting the tracker in The Search for WondLa to be recognized.

Answer: Often, the problem may be lighting. (See the lighting section above.) If you printed your 3D tracker, it may be your print out. Try formatting your printer to a higher print quality. If you are still having 3D tracker recognition issues, please email us at wondla2_support@t-immersion.com
